END SARS Poem: Friendly Foes - Okeke Bright. C

 FRIENDLY FOES

Ought to be a friend for safety,

But turned to an enemy of doom,

Friendly foes of the people,

Suffering all righteous souls,

How tragic, that the tower of peace;

Has becomes a hollow of death and dungeon of misery.

We fall apart at the mention of their name,

They say they protect life and property,

But at their sight we scamper for safety,

They bully us of privacy, snatch our belongings,

Kills our youth and renders mothers childless.

Their words are knives in our heart,

Their kindness is our sweats taken by brutal force,

Where did we go wrong?

Who did we offend?

We are only but humans,

We bleed when we fall down!
