END SARS Poem: Lekki With Flames - Dayò Ayílárá

LEKKI WITH FLAMES

In Jákàñdè, stars peep over the midnight clouds

children swim in sandy crowds

and call out to the breeze

that fan the trees with ease

in Àjàngbàdì, the air is a sparkling lace

tied around with grace

the woman treks the town - a thousand mile

with a greasy smile

but that's the last i heard of them

if death visits you, wear a golden emblem

keep your daughters save

and let your sons be brave

for the dragon that slept for centuries long

rouses at Lekki with flames and blood in tongue.
