END SARS Poem: Nightfall in Nigeria - Nathaniel Okeke

NIGHTFALL IN NIGERIA

Night came knocking

Handless

It yelled silently

And made a noisy tiptoe

Craved many sleeps

Bent many necks

Crawled back to hell

And we woke wailing minstrels

Of the many nights

In Soweto and Rwanda

Lagos toll gate has joined the train

And we cry - and we cry

Nathaniel Okeke
